How I Went from Interested
to Falling in Love
with Surface Pattern Design
For my first ever Blog, I wanted to share with you a little bit about my journey to falling in love with Surface Pattern Design, a creative world I had only dabbled in before discovering Cass Deller’s Surface Pattern Design course.
I have always loved painting, but with family, studying and a career it fell by the wayside. A couple of years ago I discovered Surface Pattern Design using Adobe Illustrator and began creating designs. It was fun, but always felt like there was something missing.
Then Cass’s course started popping up in my feeds, I ignored it to start with, but then decided to investigate further as it seemed to be a bit different.
My eyes were opened!
From the moment I saw Cass’s process and the transformation from painting, to pattern, to product on her website I knew I’d found my missing link. It was a whole new way to continue my creativity but get back to painting and create something different and exciting.
So I took a closer look at the course
I was amazed at how much was included.
I decided to invest in myself, and with hubby’s full support (as always ), I took the plunge. The course covers so much more than just technical, from mindset, licensing your work, pattern making, industry know-how, and more. What is really great is how easy everything is to follow: videos, step-by-step guides, group calls, worksheets, and all thoughtfully put together.
Cass puts so much into it and shares so much with you, she is a great teacher.
Since starting the course, and I have to be honest here I am only halfway through it, but I am so loving being back painting again. It was the missing piece for me, and already I am able to create my paintings and produce Surface Pattern Designs. I love the way Cass teaches, there is no pressure just freedom to play, in your own time to see where it takes you, and she covers so much more than just the technical stuff.
It is lovely to follow everyone’s progress and celebrate wins together
There is also a line-up of guest speakers, talented experts who share valuable insights and inspiring stories.
So if you’re looking for a way to express your creativity, and considering a pattern course to build your skills and learn more about the industry, this one is definitely worth checking out. You can see the full details about the course here:
If you do decide to enrol, use one of these links and the code VIKKI to get 10% off.
Why am I sharing this?
I decided I wanted to be an affiliate for the course because of how much it helped me. If you choose to sign up using my link, I do get a small commission, which helps support my business and that would really mean a lot to me.
So, if you do use my link, thank you xx
Where to from here?
That’s where I am at with Surface Pattern Design so far, and I’m so excited about where this can lead. If you’re curious, or thinking about trying it yourself, I hope this gives you a little insight into what it is like.
And if you’re just starting out Cass also has a Beginner Photoshop & Illustrator course that is a great intro for creatives (and you can use the same discount code). Again it is super easy to follow and perfect if you’re just getting your head around things.
